Side note: I'm in love with the illustrations on the About page. So so lovely.
Other side note: Super appreciative of the ecumenical approach! I think Catholics and Protestants/other non-Catholics can easily find themselves in silos, but there's goodness to share with each other. (I'm pretty sure the majority of people I interact with on Substack are Catholic, so I'm inadvertently mitigating my own echo chambers. haha)
Aren't those pomegranates pretty?! I purchased them on Etsy - scans of vintage etchings. :)
And I'm so glad you're loving the ecumenical approach, too - I feel really strongly about that and believe there's so much to share, as you so beautifully said. It makes our engagement with these traditions more expansive and less limited!
I hope at some point we will have the opportunity to direct people from here over to our mutual favorite, Sally Clarkson, Haley -- she's a great example of a non-Catholic Christian embracing the Liturgical Year!
So many good things for us to learn from each other. We Christians really need each other!!
Very excited to see this community on Substack. I have been praying through the liturgical year this year using the book On the Eighth Day (written from the Anglican tradition) and am looking forward to starting the cycle anew with Advent.
I found my way here from the Sacred Ordinary Days FB community. I am excited to be in this space 🤍 Learning to live liturgically has richly blessed me on my journey. As someone who does not fit neatly within any of the common streams of the liturgical traditions, the ecumenical + flexible atmosphere here feels so approachable & welcoming. Thank you.
Looking forward to following along and checking out the contributions page!
Thanks so much for joining us here, Lahni - it's so easy to approach liturgical living in such a curated way (for me, anyway!) and miss the forest for the trees, so I hope all the different voices coming together here can be a reminder for us all of how imperfect and simple and varied it can be!
I'm right there with you...liturgical living was my gateway into faith in the first place and has continued to be such a blessing. So great to see you both here and on the SOD page!
Such a beautiful post - I'm so looking forward to learning alongside you! I've definitely found that the 'repeated remembrances' are exactly what I need...like a method of being continually trained toward Christ-centered habits.
Thanks so much, Tsh - I'm so excited to see what folks share and to learn new things from everyone! Also excited help normalize the truth that we're all Just Doing Our Best 😅 and there's no one way of living the calendar.

LOVE Sally!
I am so excited for this!
So glad to have you on board for the journey!
This sounds amazing! Looking forward to seeing this space bloom! Checking out the contributions page this afternoon ❤️
Yay! Thanks so much for joining us, Mandy - I love your work & know your contributions will add SO much to the conversation here!

We're so glad to have you here! Oooo I haven't heard of that book but will go searching for it - that sounds lovely.

Looking forward to this. I am learning more and more about history of liturgy and the benefit of repeated remembrances on a yearly cycle. Very excited for Advent this year. Got a head start in my latest post. https://open.substack.com/pub/codyilardo/p/glory-to-god-peace-to-men?r=1q8ur0&utm_campaign=post&utm_medium=web

Love that you're spearheading this, Kristin!
